He shot to fame worldwide as the hulking DEA agent Hank Schrader in hit TV show Breaking Bad.
But as actor Dean Norris attended the Variety Breakthrough Of The Year Awards in Las Vegas on Thursday night, he was literally a shadow of his former self.
The 53-year-old star debuted an entirely new slimline look as he strolled onto the red carpet, looking sharp and dapper in his charcoal grey suit, blue shirt and purple tie.

Dean appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight, and looked happier and healthier than ever as he posed up for photographers at the event.
He was at the awards to accept the Breakthrough Award for Television, but not for his role in Breaking Bad.
Instead, Dean is now finding huge success in the CBS television adaptation of Stephen King's novel Under The Dome, which tells the story of a town who have to cope with living behind a barrier which literally dropped out of the sky.

Speaking recently about the show, in which he stars as Big Jim, Dean admitted he went into it blind because he hadn't read the book.
He said: 'I had the book and was going to read it, and it became clear by talking to the producers and writers and CBS that we were going to deviate from the book, and so I decided not to read it.
'I'm told the character in the book is a little bit more of a straightforward bad guy. And it immediately became clear to me that we didn't want to do that, that we wanted to have a more complex character.'

Meanwhile, as Dean was attending the Variety awards, his former on-screen wife Betsy Brandt made an appearance at Audi's pre-Golden Globes party at Cecconi's in Los Angeles.
Betsy, 40, looked chic in an embellished black minidress, sheer tights and a black blazer for the occasion.
Since her Breaking Bad days, Betsy can now be found starring in The Michael J. Fox show as Mike's wife Annie Henry.
